Since the last update we have been away in Germany on holiday but the garage base work has still continued! We came home on Sunday and the concrete has now been fully laid and is under cover for another week while it 'hardens'. The base has had to be built up to quite a high level as our garden slopes a fair bit. The builder so far has done an excellent job and i'm really looking forward to getting the covers and the wooden shuttering off!
I also found this excellent website on my internet travels and it has been providing me with much inspiration!! www.garagejournal.com Check it out and you'll be amazed at some of the garages people have!

Garage Build - Update 1
Firstly Euro Bug In - WOW!! What a show! It was an awesome weekend with some great cars and great racing! We had a very successful trading weekend also and we are definately going back next year! Dyno Don was an absolute legend and made the weekend even more fantastic! The final day was superb and we all really felt we were part of something big and very special! A huge thanks goes out to Kobus, Fred and the guys who did a fantastic job of organising the show!
I also managed to find a few ultra rare parts which i'd been looking to find for a long time, I'm really into my period original accessories and so I was really chufted to find a pair of OG albert hinge mirrors in good condition and the item i'd been for looking for so long, a NOS Petri 'Sonnenuhr' or 'Sundial' horn button! This will fit perfect with my OG Petri 'Rometsch' wheel!
So now we are back and have finally started to get under way with our new garage build. Hopefully it should be done fairly quickly and we can start progress on the beetle asap! We have started to order parts ready for mid august and everythings looking good so far! The Day mouldings midweight wings should be ready in a few weeks so we just now have to pick up some doors and we are all set for John to start!
The beetle is hiding in our next door neighbours garden while the new garage is being built!
